Clairita Bonita

Claire has lots of nick names now. Clairita, Claire Bear, Punkin, Girlfriend (that’s only when she makes a dirty diaper and you say- Giiiiirrrrrrl!) She is now 5 weeks old and becoming a little person with a distinct personality, likes and dislikes. She likes baths— she doesn’t even cry when I get a little water on her face or in her eyes. She likes being bounced on your knee. She likes music— she stayed awake in church yesterday during all of the singing, just looking around and taking it all in. She doesn’t like being swaddled, even though it is the only way we can get her to sleep at night. I call it her baby straight jacket. She doesn’t like being strapped in her car seat, but she doesn’t usually cry, she just flails her arms and kicks her legs while grunting. It’s kind of cute actually. Pretty Claire!!

Claire is starting to smile and it is so exciting to see her grow!! After she eats and gets dressed in the morning, she likes to play under her baby Einstein gym that Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jenn got for her. She makes her “happy sounds”– ooooh and aaah, and started smiling. She is a very happy baby in the morning which makes me think she will be a morning person like her mom!
