News on the Essers

Well, frankly there isn’t much to report other than I’ve been completely out of commission for the last two weeks with the hives. After one ER visit and one doctor visit we figure I just had an immune system breakdown due to stress and working so much. Gee, you would think I was back in school or something. :)

I’m starting to get over it but it comes back every night lighter than the previous night. I’m trying not to take too many appointments but of course when running your own business you can imagine how well that works out!

Colleen is doing great with the pregnancy and is nearing the end. Her baby shower was awesome and we got so many things. I can’t even believe a baby requires so much gear. Right now we are just trying to prepare the house as best we can (we repainted the master bedroom for instance), all that is left is to pack our bags for the hospital. The heat here in Denver this week is absolutely ridiculous! At least I’m done with baby classes. I was in the Boulder Daily Camera news for attending Daddy Boot Camp. (They were doing a special article for Fathers Day)

In other news we won our first softball game tonight. It was a great feeling. I hit a clutch two-out, two RBI single that put us up by three runs in the bottom of the 4th which turned out to be enough to win it for us. Celebration at Cold Stone was mandatory.

I was hoping to get out and hike more but with my body not wanting to do anything I’ve been resting as we continue to wait for Baby! I’ll keep this blog more updated as stuff progresses. Hope everybody is doing well.

Dear Matt. Colleen and darling Claire, Thank you both for the wonderful pictures of your beautiful little girl!! I printed several of them and forwarded them to Great-grandma in Iowa. I have been checking this website for additional photos and, of course, Matt’s views on fatherhood, diapers, sleep deprivation, and the pending financial responcibilities of raising, clothing, and educating Claire. But ….. I have concluded that since your site has remained untouched since even before her blessed arrival…….; well…. let’s just say… “no further questions !!” Hope you are doing well !! All my love, Arlene

Hey All, congratulations!!! My wife just had our 2nd and have been busy ourselves. Hey sorry I flaked out the last 2 proposed hikes to the Sangres, but we’ll definitely have to try and swing something before the summer is up. Sleep is at a premium so enjoy it whenever you can squeeze it in. From even the one time we met going up Ptarmigan Peak, I could tell you guys are good people and you are all very blessed.

““For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)
