Colorblind Test

So I keep telling Colleen that certain things are purple, and certain things are blue, and she keeps correcting me. To settle this once in for all, we logged onto the web and checked out a few colorblind websites that had some test images. I failed miserably. I want you to take the test to see how you do.

Get out some scratch paper and number it 1-13.

Below are some images, I want you to write down the numbers or shapes you see in each image. At the bottom, click “Read the rest of this entry” to find out the answers. And oh, just to let you know, there are some controls mixed in that everybody (normal people and colorblind people) can see. So, if you can’t see the controls, you aren’t colorblind, you’re BLIND! (just kidding) Furthermore, there are some that just colorblind people can see. If you can’t see anything, just move on to the next one until you finish. Some have shapes instead of numbers and can contain more than one shape.

Great! You are all finished. I hope it wasn’t too hard for you! When you are ready to see the answers, click below!

THE ANSWERS!

Picture 1: Everybody should see the number 25. If you don’t, then you should stop taking the test here! ;)
Picture 2: Normal should see 29. Colorblind should see spots, some see a 70.
Picture 3: Everybody should see 56. (I’m still checking for people TRYING to be colorblind.)
Picture 4: Normal 45. Colorblind spots.
Picture 5: Normal 8. Colorblind spots.
Picture 6: Normal 6. Colorblind spots.
Picture 7: Normal shouldn’t see anything. Colorblind people should see a 5. (Note, some normal seeing people have reported seeing the 5, but it takes a little longer to see than the others. The point is that colorblind people see the five right away.)
Picture 8: Everybody should see a circle, a star and a square.
Picture 9: Everybody should see the square. Normal people see a faint brown circle.
Picture 10: Everybody should see the circle. Normal people see a faint brown square.
Picture 11: Normal should see 29. Colorblind should see 70. (This test is slightly different from Picture 2)
Picture 12: Everybody should see 12.
Picture 13: Normal visioned people will see 26. If you are red-blind, you should only clearly see the 6. If you are green-blind, you should only see the 2. A totally colorblind person won’t see any number in this plate.

Definitely leave your comments as I want to know how you guys did!

I told you not to wear a tan shirt with khaki pants! It’s okay. You’re still cute anyway…

  • Lori says:

Haha, I guess I can see normal and a little colorblind! I got all the answers right, and I even got #7 right where you see a 5, but it says if you see the 5 you’re colorblind. So if I got the rest of them right, what am I?

  • Maygon says:

I got all of them right except number 11. So I wonder if I’m partially color blind ..??

  • Matt says:

    What I see…

    1. 25 (correct)
    2. 70 (wrong)
    3. 56 (correct)
    4. nothing (wrong)
    5. nothing (wrong)
    6. nothing (wrong)
    7. 5 (right for colorblind)
    8. circle, triangle, sqaure (correct)
    9. yellow square only (wrong)
    10. yellow circle only (wrong)
    11. 70 (wrong)
    12. 12 (correct)
    13. 26 (correct)

Lori – Wow, you’re special. You have super-eyes like Colleen…although she didn’t get the one only colorblind people are supposed to see. But you did…so that makes you extra special!

Gon – What did you get for number 11? BTW it’s possible to be partially colorblind, or more sensitive to a certain area of colorblindness. In fact, that’s more common than complete colorblindness.

  • mom says:

I scored exactly the same as Lori :)

  • Maygon says:

I ended up seeing 70 for number 11. J.D. got all of them right..but when he got to 11 he was like “whoa it could be either 29 or 70″ haha. Is there a way to correct color blindness? And if so..are you going to?

  • Matt says:

I’m sure there is a fix, it has to do with how the cones in your eyes form during childhood.

No, I’m not too concerned with my color blindness. As far as my vision goes, I’m 20-5 and 20-10, so I’m still in great shape there!

  • Matt says:

I got them all, and could see all the little shapes and things. I just didnt see either of the 70′s that were supposed to be on two of them. Other than that, I got it. Seeing that 5 on #7, was easy at first and then harder later though. I think maybe its just harder to see when you tell your mind to look at numbers, rather than look at the colors and then determine what number it is.

  • Matt says:

    Interesting.

It’s neat to read how different people see different things, because most people think vision is absolute and universal.

  • Shannon says:

Dude, not cool. John and I fight about colors all the time! His dad is red/green colorblind and I always wonder about him, but I did see the 70 in #11 but I didn’t see the 6 in #6. hmmm…I think there is a thing as partial colorblindness! I’ll have to have John take the quiz.

BTW, we were in Denver this weekend, if you had called me with your # we could have got together! We’re looking for an apartment. We have two in mind, Summit Ridge, which is right by the Tech Center, actually right by my place of employ and then Coyote Ranch, which is way out in Parker, actually aurora, but I think we may say no to them. We shall decide tomorrow….Crazy!!! We went to REI tonight. It rocked!!! John was unimpressed though…ohwell….

  • Mark says:

That’s interesting about yours Matt, I got all mine correct and even got the 5 but it took me awhile. See ya in a couple weeks in Little Rock.

  • Rick Esser says:

I got them all but did not see the “5″ on number 7. Otherwise, I just have bad taste. Dude, it was the 70′s when I learned how to dress!

  • Cole says:

    1)25
    2)70
    3) I don’t see anything but dots
    4) Nothing
    5) 5 but i can barley make it out
    6) nothing
    7) 5
    8) the circle, star, and square is what i saw
    9) the square
    10) a cirlce
    11) 70
    12) 12
    13) i can actually make out the 2 and 6 but barley for both of them
